If you were responsible for someone you care for e.g. your child, or something you care about, e.g. your goldfish, you would want to make sure no harm came to them, you would keep them warm, feed them the right food, you would keep your eye on them and monitor them day and night. In other words you would do all that is in your power to protect them. More attention is given to a toddler's well being than to it's 5 year old sibling, because a toddler is too innocent to take care of themselves, so they trust and depend on their parents to take care of them. A toddler does not care about what they wear, they do not care what people think of them, they do not lie, they do not attempt to purposely cause harm, they are not proud and they do not hate, they have their carers to do all that for them. We in essence are meant to be God's 'babies'. He wants to do everything for us
God insists on seeing us as 'babies', which is why it is imperative that we maintain that degree of innocence if we want to see God's input in our lives.
However where a visitor comes into the baby's life and the baby seems to prefers the person to it's parent, it is natural for the parent to be disappointed and a little envious.
And so when we choose to listen and respond to the devil, God does get hurt, and envious Exodus 34;14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Hosea 2;19-20 (NET) I will commit myself to you forever; I will commit myself to you in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love and tender compassion.
I will commit myself to you in faithfulness; then you will acknowledge the Lord.?
The love God has for us is pure, deep and fierce, more so than a mother's love for her children, or more than the true love between a man and a woman, for God Himself is Love....
and yet, because He has given us free will, He grudgingly allows us to chose to be with a stranger over Him.
This was the situation with Adam and Eve, their innocence allowed God to take good care
of them God made sure they lacked nothing and they completely depended on Him for companionship, love, happiness, protection and wellbeing.
Genesis 2 ; 8-9 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food...
God even warned of the foods that they could eat and not eat;
Genesis 3 ;15-17 The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the Lord God warned him, You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die..
By giving these instructions God was protecting them. In other words God was saying to Adam and Eve, 'if you don't obey me i can't, not won't, but can't protect you'. Because we lose God's protection when we choose to listen to the devil, it is also then that we lose the innocence that attracts God to us, we then become surrounded by the presence of all that the devil represents. And God cannot pollute Himself by being in the presence of the of all that the devil represents, that is why He threw the devil and his followers out of heaven. And that is why, unfortunately He had to ask Adam and Eve to leave the garden of Eden, Satan's pollution had automatically removed Adam and Eve's innocence. God cannot be infected by evil, if He is, there would no longer be power in existence great enough to maintain purity, love, goodness and righteousness in the world, all of which is God Himself...
God wants us to live free of worries, full of peace, joy, harmony and love, lacking nothing and always satisfied. But there are conditions,'innocence' simplicity, unworldliness, harmlessness in other words be like babies.
Just as babies depend on their carer for survival, so also God, wants us to depend on Him.
The free dictionary states that innocence is-
'Freedom from sin, moral wrong, or guilt through lack of knowledge of evil
'No one loses their innocence, it is stolen, or given away, either willingly or reluctantly.' Tiffany Madison.
Adam and Eve gave away their innocence. The minute Adam and Eve ate from the tree of Good and Evil, they were filled with knowledge, and this was demonstrated when God came looking for them and they hid themselves because they realised they were naked. The result was they had to leave the garden. So in essence losing ones innocence is almost as bad as losing one's soul.
This was never God's original intention, unfortunately the results of Adam and Eve's disobedience is why the world is the way it is today, where innocence is no longer as valued as it used to be. I have heard it said and have noticed myself that children today are a lot more maturer than the children of bygone generations. This is not maturity this is loss of innocence, which in some circumstances is thrust upon them through media, technological and non technological, for example in the remotest parts of the world were civilisation and tecnology is absent innocence is still evident. Unfortunately this type of innocence can bring with it ignorance and unethical and pagan practices. This is not the type of innocence God is looking for.
Another Dimension (www.brillumiere.com), demonstrates through the Holy Spirit how we can get from one dimension to a better one, a new dimension called 'Life', using variables created by God, and not variables created by the Devil. The variables created by the Devil are dimensions clouded by death and which is, unfortunately the dimension that most of us our living in now. According to God's variables 'death' is a curse, while 'life' is suppose to be a blessing.
Adam and Eve hid themselves as soon as they realised their mistake...and at that point they were no longer like children, and therefore no longer innocent.
A child is never afraid of their parents and only try to hide when they have done something wrong.
Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
Achieving a new life is possible, it is real, it exists and is attainable....by doing this we will discover a different way to see Christianity, a new route to understanding God, and a way to move from unaccepted dimension to accepted one. This requires change...
The question is, can we change? and what changes are we prepared
to allow? To adopt that the degree of innocence that is expected of us, is something
we cannot do on our own. But when situations do not improve in our lives,
it means it is time to sit down and examine our ways, and to find out what
we are doing that is getting in the way of our situation from being in control
of God and, not the devil. What is preventing our situation
from reflecting 'life' and not 'death'.
A lot of what goes on in and around us affects our lives, for example, the recession could be responsible for a lose of a job, which of course effects finances and possibly effects a marriage, all of which can eventually bring about depression....
The reverse can also be the case, for instance, one could already be depressed which in turn affects ones marriage, divorce can ensue which affects the finances and the job. And in such situation you may feel that you have no one to turn to, and you may start to feel alone. These are examples of dimensions clouded by 'death'. And so 'death' is a curse...Genesis 3:17-19 and Genesis 5:29.
There is another dimension easily accessible...'life' which is meant to be a blessing the opposite of being cursed. Of course that would mean we would be living in peace, harmony, joy, generosity, lacking nothing, health and so on.
Dimensions cannot be entered into unless a portal opens up somewhere, in this case the portal to enter
s, the door is already in us and we enter in through that door, we become an activated part of God to make God's dimension to work for us we need to believe in Him and His word. If we imagine a pitch black sky then all of a sudden a star appears and then another and then another and even if there are a thousand stars twinkling in the sky it is still possible to catch a new star when it suddenly appears in the sky. And i believe that, that is how God can sees us, we are God's light in a world that has been darkened by the Devil.
Proverbs 20:27a The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord..
The light is also perceived by the Devil, while God's aim is to keep the light glowing the Devil's aim is to extinguish that light. If God exists, the devil exists also. Where there is darkness there is also light.
Every soul is of God, He created us and placed an identity (soul) into us...when we are born we are refined, sinless, innocent, perfect in the eyes of God. As we grow we become more and more unrefined by the world and society and all of this influences us, emotionally, mentally and physically.
(Isaiah 42:5) Thus saith the Lord He that created the Heavens and stretched them out: he that spread forth the earth and that which cometh out of it: He that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
(Isaiah 57:16) ....: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which i have made.
(Job 12:10) In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
(Genesis 2:7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
(Job 34:14-15) If He set His heart upon man, if He gather unto Himself His spirit and His breath; All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
We were created in God's image, it would therefore follow that if we have souls, then He in whose image we are, must also have one. If we sin, we pollute that soul that God gave us that soul that connects God to us for we were made in His image,
Genesis 1:26 And God said let us make man in our image...
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God (for to disobey God is to sin) they unwittingly, allowed themselves to be polluted by the devil. As a result God had to disassociate Himself from them, and so opened another portal sending them out of Eden. Transferring them from the dimension of peace, joy, love, health etc. 'life' into a dimension of suffering, sickness, hatred, hardship, etc. 'death'
The Devil first finds anyone that is similar to him in character or behavior because it is such a character that he can easily enter and control. In other words someone or something that is subtil. To be subtil is to be, cunning, sly, ingenious, devious, crafty, tricky and apparently the snake was an ideal candidate..and then he looks for some part of us that he can associate with and uses that to tempt us..
(Gen 3:1-5) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
The Devil brings about hardship destruction misery, God tries to prevent us from entering the Devil's trap, but God will not succeed in doing this, if we are unwilling to cooperate with Him. And God cannot force anyone to do anything, because He has given us free will, (Deuteronomy 30:19-20, Jeremiah 21:8), all He can do is advice and warn us of the consequences. The Devil also cannot force us, into his trap, he uses a different tactic, he beguiles.
(Genesis 3:11-13) And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
Other words for beguile are entice, lure, charm, captivate, mesmerize, hypnotize, fascinate, enthrall, put under a spell, attract. I believe that the Devil had already been working his spell on Eve long before she finally succumbed to his temptations. That is the way the Devil works he finds our weaknesses and uses it.
Eve's sin was not only disobedience but believing the Devil's word and doubting God's word. And that is how we end up choosing 'death' over 'life'.
(Jeremiah 21:8) And unto these people thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord behold i set before you the way of life and the way of death.
(Psalm 1:6) For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
(Genesis 3:3) But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Proverbs 3:6 To be carnally minded is death but to be spiritially minded is life and peace.
When Lucifer himself, rebelled against God, God threw him out, together with all those that the Devil had polluted, all out of Heaven to avoid further spread of the devils 'infection' and so therefore maintain sanctity.
Adam and Eve did not know sin before the Devil came into their lives, and so therefore, being sinful is suppose to be alien to those of us that are Gods Children. It is like having a disease and we catch it just as Adam and Eve did, through interaction with the devil who had been thrown into the world. So in other words exposure to the world inadvertently means exposure to the Devil. Doing what pleases God (doing what is right) is 'interacting' with God. Doing what pleases the Devil (doing what is wrong) is 'interacting' with the Devil. We need to understand that being sinless does not make us righteous, as long as we are in the flesh we can never be righteous only God is righteous. Being sinless is a means of protecting ourselves from the Devil, being sinless automatically commits us to obeying God which in turn drastically reduces the Devil's hold over us and increases God's involvement in our lives which in turn empowers us. We also need to understand that following either the devil or God can spiritually alter chain of events...
2 Kings 16-17 Don't be afraid, the prophet answered. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them. And Elisha prayed, 'Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see'. Then the Lord opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Can God see us? Yes He can. We need to also understand that we are never alone God is always with us, it is who we attach ourselves to that determines or fate. Attaching ourselves to the devil drives a wedge between us and God, making it seem as if God has abandoned us, and if we believe this then we are in trouble because the devil's aim is to kill, steal and destroy. God cannot be infected by evil and sin, because these attributes are of the devil, so when we associate ourselves with sin, we are making it difficult for God to have direct access to us. And the more we fall into the devil's net, the bigger the distance gets between God and us, and so the harder it gets for Him to reach us, spiritually, physically and mentally.
What the Devil did in Heaven is what he is trying to do here on earth.. Some might say that if they were millionaires they would want for nothing all problems can be solved with money, for example illnesses. However the one thing money cannot change is our emotions or our weaknesses. And it is through this that the devil has control over us. If we are afraid of what someone will do to us we lie or if we want to avoid embarrassment we lie. This is important, something as minimal as a white lie can get the Devils' foot in the door. We are sinners, that is why being sinless is so hard, it is like being born with a disease that has no cure, for example HIV. That sickness remains with that person for the rest of their life, and he is only able to live with the help of his doctors, if the patient follows the doctors advice and instructions, he/she can still live a full life, if he does not follow the doctors advice he will die. Some look upon an incurable disease as being a curse, in the same way the effects of sin should be looked upon as being a curse. In other words death is a curse. A pronouncement that God made because of Adam and Eve's sin of disobedience.. Genesis 3:17
If that person chooses not to follow the doctors advice it means that he has very little faith in that doctor. And faith in God is one of the most important things needed when having a relationship with God because if you do not have faith, it is very hard to 'interact' with Him and if you can not interact with Him it means you are interacting with the Devil. And if you interact with the Devil you are displeasing God. God is not displeased with us personally He is more frustrated by the fact that we continue to allow the Devil to control our immediate situation which causes problems for us in the future, and God hates to see us suffer.
If you do not have faith then fear becomes a very common influence in your life. You become paranoid about everything. Faith is of God. Fear is of the devil.
(Isaiah 55:3) Incline your ear and come unto me:hear and your soul shall live...
The Devil wants us dead but we are only able to live through the mercy and grace of God and He can only help us if we follow His instructions (advice). Here is one way to look at faith...If we do not have faith in our doctors for example we obviously are not going to follow his advice. So therefore, one of the routes to understanding God, is having faith and obedience the effects of this, are only seen when they works hand in hand. To sin is to disobey God, it is like telling God that He does not know us enough and so is not in a position to tell us what to do. God knows us better than we know ourselves, however nothing is impossible with God. God according to His will, can make us sinless, and unlike any doctor God can heal us from all diseases, deliver us from all our tribulations if we really want to be delivered, we just need to ask Him and believe. God's word is law, if he says we should ask and through that He will hear us then that is what we should do!
We spoke about souls earlier and we mentioned that God Himself has a soul...
(Lev 26:11-12) And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
.
(Isaiah 57:16).... for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
The fact that He can destroy our souls further demonstrates that our souls are from or connected
directly to Him and just as He can give it to us, He can just as easily take it away completely,
it is only someone that owns something that can rightfully claim it back or destroy it.
The bible provides us with routes to understanding God, we have to realise that we are in God's dominion, in other words God is a dimension, He is existence and because of this is in control, though at times because of the presence of dark forces, it may not seem like it.
Psalms 90:1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world...
Psalms 90:4 A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
if we understand Him we will be better able to understand why He wants us to follow His instruction and this will make it easier to obey Him, and start to 'live' and not
